on Langness. Due to the proximity of the airport all flights had
to be co-ordinated with Air Traffic Control and particularly the first
ones where the flight had to take place when there were no aircraft movements.

Lady Isabella - The
Laxey Wheel, constructed in 1854 to drain water from the Laxey Mines and
72 feet 6 inches in diameter
Lady Evelyn - The Snaefell
Mines wheel, a 50 foot waterwheel operated between 1865 and 1910 at the
mine before being sold fo
further use in Cornwall.
Returned to the island in 2003 and reconstructed by Pete Geddes and his
team, turning again in 2006
